How we work
Methodology
Top10Supps is a data-driven supplement research and comparison platform, enhanced with automation to keep product data organized and up to date.
Mission
What we’re building
We build supplement comparisons you can follow: structured data, editorial judgment, and criteria that hold up when you read closely. Behind the scenes, structured product and ingredient data and automation keep catalogs organized and current; on the page, you get editorial rankings, criteria you can trace, and layouts built for scanning — not stunts.
Rankings
How ranking picks are made
No black box — placements tie back to criteria you can inspect on each guide.
We combine structured product data with editorial judgment so order and blurbs trace to evidence, not vibes.
Category fit
Products belong in the guide they’re listed under; use-case labels (e.g. stim-free, vegan) are reflected when data supports them.
Ingredients & dosing
Key actives, forms, and labeled amounts where we have them in the database.
Quality signals
Third-party testing flags, certifications (e.g. NSF, Informed Choice), and label transparency where captured.
Editorial review
Summaries, pros/cons, and order-of-merit are reviewed for clarity and consistency with that evidence—not for undisclosed pay-to-rank placement.
Scores
Product scores: today and next
We separate what you see now from the composite model we’re building.
What the number means today
Guide order and write-ups reflect editorial judgment plus the structured facts we store (ingredients, certifications, offers, and so on). If you see an overall score, it is a display value tied to list position and internal tooling— not yet a multi-factor composite of dosing, reviews, price, and certifications.
What we’re building
We’re designing a transparent, repeatable score from measurable inputs (including ingredient benchmarks against reference doses, aggregated sentiment where there’s enough volume, and other signals). That system is in progress; until it ships publicly, treat rankings as editorial + data you can read on the page—not as the final automated formula.
Editorial
Editorial & data
Rankings and guides
Narrative context (often from our WordPress editorial workflow) meets database-backed facts: ingredients, forms, certifications, offers, and category fit.
Recommendations
Reviewed against transparent criteria—we don’t present opaque or purely automated picks as human-vetted without that editorial pass.
How we organize products
Comparison-first: ingredients, dosage, certifications, and use case where data exists in our database.
